Step 2: Gathering the Right Information
Enrollment requires a LawHub Advantage purchase
About the course
This course is the third in the Thinking Like a Lawyer series and builds on problem definition by teaching learners how to identify and gather the information needed to move forward thoughtfully and effectively. Through a relatable roommate conflict scenario, learners explore how missing details, assumptions, and incomplete perspectives can limit understanding-and how intentional information gathering creates a clearer, more accurate picture of what is happening.
Learners are introduced to practical strategies for identifying relevant facts, understanding multiple perspectives, and recognizing patterns and context. The course also emphasizes gathering information with care and respect, using modern tools responsibly, and organizing information clearly to turn details into insight. By the end, learners are better equipped to move beyond assumptions, build understanding, and make more informed decisions in both everyday and professional situations.
